How can the Activities Transcript
be used? Official copies of the Activities Transcript may be used to complement your resume and academic transcript when applying to professional and graduate schools or prospective employers. It can be given to scholarship committees; in addition you can also place a copy in your placement file.
Why not wait until my senior year to complete my transcript? The Activities Transcript is your map for navigating
through your California University experience. By reviewing your transcript
each semester or academic year, you will begin to identify strengths as well
as identify areas you might improve. This information can guide your choice
of activities in the following semester.
Can I include off-campus activities? Yes, but they must have taken place during your time at California University of Pennsylvania, within the parameters of the five extracurricular categories (click here to see the categories), and be validated.
Should I include employment experiences? Yes and no. You should only list on-campus employment experiences that you feel significantly contributed to your personal and professional growth. You should not, however, list any off-campus employment history. These should be listed in your resume.
How long does the program last? The program begins your first year at California University of Pennsylvania and concludes at graduation.
How do I keep track of my activities? Simply make a copy of each Individual Report Form before
submitting it to the Activities Transcript Office. Once you receive and
verify that your final transcript is correct, you can discard your copies.
(Note: if you are unable to make copies of the Individual Report Forms
prior to submission, you may ask the Activities Transcript Office to
make copies for you.)
How long are my records kept after graduation? Online access to your transcript ends upon graduation
or leaving the university. Records are kept for five years.
Where can I get help with my entries
or have my question answered? Any questions can be answered by the Activities Transcipt
office located in the Natali Student Center or by calling x4515. Submitting Activities
Leadership Activities Includes any leadership role or position held by you
in a recognized organization, activity, or program.
Professional or Educational Development Includes participation in extracurricular learning experiences
such as workshops, seminars, conferences, training programs, internships,
co-operative education, and campus positions, which are generally related
to personal or professional development.
Honors, Awards, & Recognition Includes any type of formal recognition bestowed on you individually or as part of a group.
Participation Includes membership in a recognized organization, activity, or program that requires sustained participation.
Community Services Inclues any volunteer or service completed as an individual or as part of a group.
When should activities be submitted? The entry and validation forms should be submitted at the completion of the activity, allowing you to record your activities more effectively, eliminating any possibility of forgetting what you have just accomplished.
How do I submit activities for my transcript? You can either complete an Individual Report Form and
return it to the Activities Transcipt Office or register for the Activities
Transcript online and submit . Use one form for each entry. Additional forms
are available online, in the Activities Transcript Office and through the Office
of Student Development and Services located on the second floor of the Natali
Student Center.
Should I submit entries for participation
in an organization even if I submit an entry for being an officer of the
organization? You have to be the judge. Look at your records of entries
and decide how you want your transcript to look. Generally, you will particpate
in a group before you become an officer and typically, your participation
in the group extends over a longer period of time. We suggest that you submit
entries for each year of participation as well as additional entries for any
leadership position.
What do I do if I hold more than
one leadership position in an organization? You should submit another entry on an Individual Report
Form for each position held. Can I submit the same entry if I continue participation
in the group or hold the same office for an additional year? Yes. Update activities by semester either by completing
and returning the Individual Report Form or by choosing Update Activities from
the online menu. Where can I get more forms? Additonal forms are available online, from the Activities
Transcript Office and at the Office of Student Development and Services, which
is located on the second floor of the Natali Student Center.
Who can validate my entries? An organization advisor or representative directly
responsible for the activity must provide the validation.
What do I do if I have a problem obtaining a validation
signature? Contact the Activities Transcript Office, or the Office
of Student Development and Services at x4439. The Transcript
When will my Activities Transcript be
completed and reproduced? Once validated, your Activities Transcript information should
be processed within seven (7) days. If you require a copy of your previously
completed transcript, a request can be submitted at any time.
How do I order my transcript? Online or complete the Request Form included in the packet
and return it to the Activities Transcript Office, Box 86.
How far in advance do I have to
order my transcript? Orders should be placed no later than ten days prior
to the date you want it.
Can my Activities Transcript be reviewed
prior to graduation? You can review your activities and their validation status
anytime by logging into Activities Transcript online at http://sai.calu.edu/activitiestranscript/.
Can entries be deleted? Yes, but you must request the deletion in writing at
the Activities Transcript Office.
Can my final transcript be edited? Upon receipt of your transcript, review it for any errors,
make any necessary corrections and return it to the Activities Transcript
Office, Natali Student Center.
How many copies can I order? You may request as many as you like.
Should I make my own copies? No. Each official transcript will be an original with
a signature and seal from the Activities Transcript Office.
Can I have my Activities Transcript mailed
directly to employers or graduate schools? No. Activities Transcripts are delivered to the student
only. They may be picked up at the Activities Transcript Office or mailed
to the student.
Who has access to my Activities Transcript? The Activities Transcript Administrative Staff have access
to transcript information. The students can access their information by logging
in with their username and password. It is the student's responsibility to
protect their password.
